So come on in and have a look around...

I can’t wait to meet you. Laura x

Yoga is an ancient practice which literally translated means ‘to yoke’, ‘to bring together, unite, as one’. In our increasingly fast-paced, over-stimulated, under-nourished, modern lives we are often left struggling with an over-active mind and underactive body, manifesting in mental conditions such as stress, anxiety and poor sleep and physical conditions such as inflammation (seen in illnesses such as diabetes, arthritis, IBS, thyroid & other hormonal issues),  joint pain, a lack or loss of mobility or general fatigue. The many varied practices of yoga (encompassing mindfulness, meditation, movement, breath control, flow of energy, creative expression and much more) assist us in finding and cultivating balance within mind, body and spirit so as to ‘to bring together as one’.

From The Sutras of Patanjali we learn;

This Is Your Invitation To Make

in your life

A POSITIVE CHANGE

Sthira Sukham Asanam
— Sutra 2.46

which translates as “The posture should be steady and comfortable.”

This is understood to mean we must be able to find the balance between effort and ease, ebb and flow, strength and flexibility in all aspects of life.

Yoga Classes in Stokenham, Kingsbridge

Classes.

My classes are for all bodies, ages and abilities.

I have so many people say to me ‘Oh but I am rubbish at yoga’ and it makes my heart sad! There is genuinely no such thing as being ‘bad’ at yoga – the first rule of yoga is ‘Come as you are.’ This is true for total beginners and experienced practitioners – the deepest practice is being so in tune with our internal systems that we know what we need, be it; stillness of the mind & body (meditation), dynamic movement to release tension and stress (asana), breath control to soothe or ignite the nervous system (pranayama) or a combination of practices.

So release yourself from any perceptions or expectations you have of the practice of you, and of yourself, and come along to a group class, book yourself in for a private consultation or join one of the many events and retreats I have scheduled this year.

The greatest gift you will ever give to yourself is the time and space to simply be, as you are.
